As I have said, there is a lot of free and very cheap software available to help you build your own website and perform all of your other computing requirements as well.

 

I have listed a few sites to get you started, but you can use any of the internet search engines to find more.

 

www.sourceforge.net, the home page for opensource software, an excellent site that provides good software and inspiration to develop your own skills.

 

www.tucows.com, a well known shareware and freeware distribution site. One of the best shareware sites.

 

www.openoffice.org, the homepage for the free microsoft office challenger Open Office. Try it out it is excellent and fully microsoft compatible.

 

www.mozilla.com, home page for Firefox an open source web browser and Thunderbird, an open source email client.

 

www.freewarehome.com, a freeware distribution site.

 

www.aptana.com, very similar to Adobes Dreamweaver web design software, only its free.
